Prospero the Magnificent! - Horse Portrait - Oil Painting

Updated: Nov 13, 2022

Wow! What a beautiful experience it was painting this magnificent animal.

His presence! Magical!

Feeling blessed to have had the opportunity to paint my first Horse Portrait, 'Prospero the Magnificent'!

A labor of love, a gift for a friend, a personal challenge.

Painting is not only about applying paint to canvas,

Painting is fulfilment of the soul!

Although Prospero, has not yet performed magnificence in an arena as such, his shear presence alone shows the magnificence within him and around him.

Caught up in emotions as I sketched his image onto canvas, looking into his eye, I see a soul.

It felt as though he was telling me his story.

I see his intelligence, his honesty, his wanting to please and his need to trust! At least he is in the best of hands now. What a guy!

This is my first Animal Portrait, Oil Painting. Although it did come with its challenges, I am glad I persevered, though I must say painting in acrylics is a touch easier.

Horses have been my passion since a young age, so painting Prospero was super special for me.

The best thing is, I had the privilege of meeting this gorgeous Pre-Andalusian back in April of this year, makes it even more special, he just melts the heart.

With the consent of the owner of the Original Painting- 'Prospero the Magnificent Fine Art Reproductions will be available soon!

I will keep you posted.

With all that said, I have put together an online Workshop with the step-by-step process of painting a Horse Portrait.

Have you wanted to paint a Horse Portrait? If you enjoy painting and personal challenges, then I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and stepping into your creative power!

One thing I have learnt is that there is no shortcut to creating your own masterpiece, it's a process, it's about growing in confidence in your own ability, trusting the process and giving yourself personal challenges.

Afterall, You'll Never Know Until You Have a Go!
